Any dreams that play-out like movie plots?

I periodically experience sleep-dreams that had the continuities, and styles of movie plots. Many of these dreams actually contained very little in the way of "dream-like" content.

So...which came first, the dream or the movie? (An easier question to answer/perspective to correct than the chicken/egg version. :) )

ETA: I was in a hurry the other day and only added cheekiness to the point rather than also the encouragement of the larger subject. As I did in my book with the student group I cover, I think it's more fascinating to imagine what all things, from art (novels/movies/music/visuals) to inventions to belief systems, could have been originally inspired by dreams. Just how many kinds of ideas might have been prompted in the dream realm rather than being observed or created entirely while awake?

The consensus of dream experts describe dreams as very much like movie showings. Hence, dreams that are similar to movie structures, styles etc. are not surprising at all.

Ah, but my point is that dreams have been around many thousands of years before movies, so it's actually far more accurate to think of movie structures as being inspired by and copying some dream formats. :) Let's just ensure we have an accurate perspective, since dreams are ruined/limited by narrow perspectives ("small minds") and absolutely *thrive* with broad perspectives (properly engaged minds); it's understandable for students of dreaming to even propose that one of the benefits of dreaming--one of its purposes--is to expand and open minds. It'd be a real shame not to take that lesson to heart.

Happy dreaming.
