Chess!

I found myself standing in the centre of a chess board, all the pawns were missing, I went in search of them, then I was shown that the pawns were my life’s challenges, I realised these have been removed because I overcome them in life. I felt a sense of balance and harmony with the remaining pieces, for the first time I actually felt were I belong, I had a sense of contentment from both aspects on the board. I became like the Buddha just sitting there in the stillness, not fighting anymore, as to did the remaining pieces. I surrendered to my own negatives, it made me realise that even though we cannot undo a move, we can however take the step wisely. every move we make influencing the outcome, i reflected on this even though iv never played chess in my life, that if life is to be based on a game of chess, then I see the winning is the unity of both aspects, as also with the masculine and feminine, and I suppose this is how I managed to dodge check mate, by standing by my values and truth, protecting my queen, and interrogating the shadow aspects. A king needs his queen as together they are stronger, and balance each other out, just as night and day, the yin and the yang and polar opposites, only then can the centre of the square rise and becomes the pyramid with a stronger foundation. I wonder everyone’s thoughts on this dream?

It sounds like you have gone through a deep spiritual development Alice, and you have found a good balance between opposites, sometimes it can be the simplest of things, but things we don't want to admit, for some it could be jealousy, resentment we hold for another, or even not able to take criticism yet find themselves giving it to others, what ever it is once we come to this realisation within ourselves, it is then we see the opposites and find a balance that aligns us to our greatest good. I wish you well on your spiritual development.

Hi, Alice. Your dream speaks for itself; you have found balance and self worth through the union of the opposites. You have protected the Queen (you) and you stand on your own values and truth. What could be better? And there is the peace of the Buddha as well.

Thank you, yes I most certainly see this Lyn, as I have been going through discernment what doesn’t align with my values, while also
working with my archetypes within, this helped me to define my own abilities, while I have explored many roles, I identified my greatest strengths, this helped me clear the board I suppose, and stand with the ones I value most, as I reflect on the challenges I have overcome in my life, and indeed the union of opposites!

Whenever you do not understand the meaning of a dream it is important to try to make associations with whats happening in the dream. Most dreams capture our recent mindset. They sum up our feeling about a thought or feeling which we have just felt.

Try to ask yourself questions like this.

Who are the pawns? Who do they remind you of? Who or what do you feel like you can overcome?

Who is the king and who is the queen. They could just be symbols of yourself or someone close to you. But they could also be symbols of power relationships which have become important in your life right now. The king needs his queen in your dream. Where did you get that feeling in real life? A man who needs his woman.

The biggest symbol is probably the Buddha. What spiritual thoughts and feelings of contentment did you feel at the time of the dream.

If you can make think of one association then you might be able to think more deeply about the other symbols

Ty, I suppose I have been looking for balance in the world mostly, as I find balance in myself, I have a huge devotion to our great mother being my queen, and god being my fatherly king, the outcome was a reflection of how I would like to see the world, balanced and united together, with the pawns representing challenges in the world, coming into the centre of opposites as the Buddha was very rich indeed, I felt like he has guided me through my journey by showing me the middle path to unity, which I felt deeply from this dream.
