Dream about a snake, a lynx and a golden tiger?

I had the most peculiar dream the other day.

Recently I've had to deal with a great loss of a pet, which has impacted me significantly. As a result of this I've had some vivid dreams - but this one topped it all;

I dreamt I was in my bedroom. It was almost like normal, for the exception of a tree going through it like a sort of treehouse. I had a gut feeling something else was there and as I gazed around I saw something hanging in the tree. There was a huge snake dangling down. It's head bigger then my own hand.

Strangely enough, I was more annoyed by the sight of it then anything else. As it threatened me with a hiss I pushed it's head away with my hand and made for the door.

As I was heading towards the exit, a lynx crawled out from under my bed. It was just there to look at me, not doing much.

Right as I opened the door and gave one final look back inside, one more animal joined the party: a golden tiger.

It was remarkably small. About the size of a Labrador - the same as the lynx. I made eye contact with it and was in awe at the power and magnificence of it.

Yet after seeing all those animals, I closed the door and felt the weight of them trying to pry it open from the other side and me trying to hold it back. Shortly afterwards I woke up.

I've had many symbolic dreams in my day, but this one I can't even begin to decipher. I normally do not dream this vividly about animals or real-life-locations - let alone me actually being myself.

Well I believe that dreams represent our thoughts. They can link to paranormal and psychic feelings but most dreams link to the emotions and thoughts that are in our minds. The message of any dream will pass to our conscious mind and the meaning of most dreams will be translated into thoughts which we might write down in a diary or tell a best friend.

Since you have given some good background information (that you have just lost a pet) then that could be the subject of your dream. The dream can seem to link to your pets death as the dream features animals. Pets are animals so that is a strong association.
Dreams work like this - they feature something which is like the subject of our dream. So for example if you have just been to the seaside then you might have a dream about water. A dream about a lake could still link the dream to the seaside.

So what could the dream mean? I think that many dreams just hinge on us assessing whether we are having negative feelings or positive feelings. Dreams are often about good or bad. The loss of your pet will occupy many of your thoughts right now and your mind will move from positive to negative thoughts. One minute you will be thinking good thoughts and the next you will switch to negative thoughts.

Pets are caring and trusting animals. They are non threatening and they give you unconditional love. Wild animals are dangerous and threatening. So if you have been dreaming about wild animals that could represent negative thoughts about your pet. When a pet or a loved one dies we may start to feel irrational negative feelings. We may resent them dying. So wild animals could represent a thought such as "When my pet was alive I felt nothing but good but now it has died I feel nothing but negative thoughts". People often feel resentment when someone dies but that is natural as we are dealing with some difficult feelings.

The dream ends on a more positive note as you look in awe at the tiger. So that suggests you have moved from some irrational negative feelings to a more positive feeling. Your memories have turned from bad to good. You have finished off thinking positively and remembering your pet in good ways.

Your dream may also link to thoughts about getting a new pet.

Hello MiloRhino, i am convinced that i know, lets say, for 95% what the dream is about. But since we are both new here, it is good to put some things together that would clarify our concept:

The Soul/God is the real autor of this dream: it is a massage.

I noticed that you, your Soul used some images straight out of the bible like the Tree in de middle of Eden. And the snake within and also "The Magnificent Golden Tiger", that must be the King of the univers with His Golden Crown : The Lion of Juda, representing Jesus/God Almigthy.
But i first need to write some things down for you to be able to understand the code.

Man is the child of God made in his image en resemblance. Thats to say, The Soul of man, the intelligent Energy, the spark of light He sended at the concepcion to accompany the body giving live to it till and of live.

At the same time the spirit, (the ego that you experience as 'I', with your own will) is born out of the vehicle of the Soul at the concepcion. So spirit and Soul are joined together in a sacred union for live in their home, the body.

In dreams, depending on the theme of the dream and the age of the dreamer, because they, the spirit and the Soul, are living in the same 'house', the dreamer will experience the Soul as a parent, or a brother/sister, or a teacher, or his or her man, a pet (often dogs, as faithfull body guards) in the house.

In this dream here the lynx is representing your Soul. Your Soul/God let you write down onconciously "just there to look at me" adding "about the size of a labrador", hinting at the faithfull bodyguard He your Soul is, God is.

The lynx in comparison with the "golden cat" (The Lion) is as the Soul in comparison with God, that's to say "in image and resemblance": two cats and devine by nature devine by nature. But the lynx in comparison with the Golden Cat, is like a water molecule in comparison with all the water in the ocean, or like a foton in comparison the sun.

So you first you saw the lynx, symbolizing your Soul, who lives with you in your body protecting you. You saw him under the bed, at the most sacred place of the house. And. ... after that, God Himself in your body His Temple and at the same time in Eden, because of the (con)fusion.

So what you we see in terms of the dreamcode in "tree going through it like a sort of treehouse" is a fusion of
1.the house of you and your soul, your body with
2. your Father's in Heaven House, in the center of Eden complete with the Tree and The Snake, The Devel, The Death.

At the end it seems like the Three are trying to open the door with conjoined forces, as you experienced it. But nothing Could be further then the truth! Because they have conflicting interest: the cats representing The Tree of live in the midle of Eden are trying to protect you and The Snake on the other hand, The Tree Of The Knowlege Of Good And Bad; The Tree Of Death as The Imposter, like a wolf in sheepcloths and sweet words trying to rob you of your Light. ... and you ... trying to keep the door close to all of them.

Conclusion: looking at your behaviour in the dream i think you are a very blessed agnostic.

Milo, these are powerful symbolic animals. I would encourage you to look up the symbolic meaning of these animals, or animal totems. There is a great deal of strength and vigor within you. The snake is a feminine symbol that indicates wholeness for you, a male. I encourage you to work with this dream, perhaps do some art, journaling, poetry, etc around these wonderful, powerful symbolic animals.
