dream within dream at night

I still remember I was in a kind of dream within a dream(dream of lying down in bed) where I saw my room looked like having some sort of light bulbs and saw the shadow of someone (having something in his hand) I looked at him more than 5 min and after some time I just got scared and woke up I saw time ( exactly 3.15 am night)

Acknowledging a dream within a dream sometimes occurs. Personally, I've occasionally experienced these dreams.
