Odd dream

My grandmother passed away back in 2015. She'd been in a nursing home for several years. Before that though she got a job at Walmart in her 70s and worked there until about 10 years before her death. So I came home from work today and took a spontaneous nap. While napping, I dreamed I was in my hometown visiting my mom and my sisters were too (none of us live there now). I either heard or saw a news story about a new product coming to market locally from an old recipe called (grandma's 1st and last name)'s fireworks cake. It became my mission find it in the store and buy one to bring back to the house for my family to enjoy and see if/how it connected to my grandmother. I went all over town but didn't find it. I was most excited to check at the walmart she'd worked at, wondering if any one there now had worked with and remembered her. As far as I knew in the dream, she'd never made such a thing or been involved in anything that would equate to her name being on a product. I never found one in the dream and the dream sort of veered off course in another direction. It was just odd and was what really stuck with me when I woke up. Maybe just my imagination stretching its legs?

Our loved ones stay in our minds forever and you can pay tribute to their memory in many ways. Just a dream about your Grandmother is a way of keeping her memory alive. One thought is that she carried on working as long as she did. I often get dreams about older people when I feel old and tired. Your grandmother maybe has a special meaning and maybe captures a thought like "I am getting older but I intend to stay active as long as possible".

Was your grandmother a focal point in your family? Did she bring you all together, in a way that you miss? I could be totally wrong, but it sounds like you might want to find your grandma's 'old recipe' for family cohesion or festivity (possibly relating to cakes or fireworks!) and share it with your relatives. Maybe you could give it a try :)
