this dream begins the way so many of my dreams do,with a quest. in this dream i was not with anyone i know in actual life. as is the case with so many of my dreams of this kind, i was in a heavily wooded area , with about maybe 78 or 80 other people,none of whom i know in waking life but-and this detail may be important-with some people whom i recognized from previous dreams!! as to these dreams ,which are roughly similar they are A SECRET MISSION AND A DANGEROUS SITUATION in 4 parts in general dream discussion, and A CURIOUS CHAIN OF EVENTS LEADS TO AN UNEXPECTED CONCLUSION in 2 parts also in General dream discussion. so some of these people were in a sense known to me. there was one man who was unquestionably the leader. he was called Dr Isiah. as far back as i can recall in the dream there was a dispute going on about where to proceed and how far. just as in the other dreams i volunteered to go forward with 2 others to reconnoiter and see what was ahead. we were about 9 miles from the camp when one of the others signaled for us to take cover. he was an experienced scout and tracker. when we saw what it was we realized the seriousness of the situation. just ahead of us were 3 sentries patrolling the area,2 on foot and 1 mounted. off to the left there was a clearing,to the right a heavily wooded area. it was evident the sentry line was regarded as a boundary. when we returned to camp we reported this to Dr Isiah . after conferring with 2 people he gave a signal and everyone reached into their packs and produced carrying cases of different shapes and sizes. then told everyone to move forward,which they did,employing maximum stealth tactics. no conversation above a whisper was permitted. when it became necessary to communicate it was done with portable devices not unlike walkie-talkies or cell phones but much more sophisticated. they used their own frequency unique to them so it could not intercepted. transmitting messages was done by typing coded symbols on a keyboard. these were also capable of sending visual images. as we neared the position held by the unknown force ahead 3 people were selected to negotiate with the force ahead. i was one of the ones chosen. bearing a white flag of truce we approached the sentry line. the sentries told us to wait there while one of them went back and informed the others of our presence. soon a mounted party arrived with orders to take us under escort to their headquarters. on our arrival the leader wanted to know what we wanted. we told him we wanted free passage across their territory and we were prepared to pay any price he wanted the exchange continued as follows: LEADER: only that? you want nothing else ME: nothing,sir. we desire only free passage in return for protection we are prepared to meet any price you may name LEADER:[gesturing to 4 men who seemed to be similar to staff officers}wait here while i read the letter ( i had brought with me a letter from Dr Isiah to himself) then he and the 4 officers went into an adjoining room. they talked among themselves for about 15 minutes before returning. he then handed me a letter of his own"here is my answer to Dr Isiah. He can answer in the morning. in the meantime you are welcome to stay the night" ME: i regret that i must decline your offer of hospitality but we must return to our camp immediately upon receipt of your reply LEADER: well then, when may we expect an answer? ME: Dr Isiah is not noted for tardiness. you will have your answer at the earliest possible hour at that, he indicated for the officer in charge of our escort to take us back . when we returned to camp we reported to Dr Isiah immediately. his reaction to this was wholly unexpected.
