Tarnishing Spray

I dreamed that I was in my mother's house. She was sullen and critical. We were cleaning, and I sprayed her cabinets with some sort
of cleaning spray. This made all the hinges and pulls tarnish.
Your feedback is welcomed!

Hello Lyn, in the saveral dreams i recently contributed, i used a model whereby in a great deal of dreams we look at the dreamer the ego character (you in this case) as a matrimony in their house (your body) man wife and child. But there are a lot of variations depending for instance what the purpose of the message is.

In this case i could conclude for instance that you are not in a relation. But because i think that i have a good idea what the massage is, i assume  why, in the first place that your Soul, autor of the massage, chose for the mother:

He/she is "sullen and cretical". The issue, the theme is a parenting/training thing. The message is i think something like this: "if you are tarnishing the pulls and the hinges, wich are the far less important things of the cabinet, how can i trust you to take care of my delicate cristals and china in the cabinet"?

You must be more subtile, cautious whith the things inside!

Cleaning could symbolise spiritual cleansing and renewal. Maybe unconsciously you were pulled towards something of inner value, metal is an element that can be tarnished easily, just as our values by negative or toxic people or emotions that distort our well being, if this is not protected and cleansed.

It can make us aware of our own sensitivities or insecurities, metal is a reflector of light, and so it has to be protected within. I read something by Jung where he mentions this reflection of metal as an alchemical symbol, which was a representation of the spirit that fights for the harmony and happiness in one’s life, leading to transformation, inner liberation, and change.

Metal is also a conduit that charges the etheric body, raising to higher states of consciousness, but there is also the symbol of being to overly self-protective, it could also relate to an old way or belief not aligning with you anymore, and that we have to let go of something in order for a new to emerge. Hope this helps.

Thanks, Alice. That resonates.

Your most welcome Lyn, I would focus on the doors mostly and the kitchen representing nourishment for the soul, a mothers kitchen brings us great comfort, maybe this is the message of feeling at home, (nurturing/nourishment), the tarnish could also mean some inner reflection is required, for an area that has been disregarded or overlooked,.

I really like Alice's input (and just found the like button--how neat!), and it triggered in me the angle of dream "type". We have these deeply complex layers that are always seeking answers/enlightenment, and sometimes manifest in dreams (or a part of them--and thanks to Alice for the Jung reminder). These symbols can be both comforting (due to similarity) and a great starting place as you work to glean any meaning and learning you can from your dream.

If I read yours right, I had a similar "type" of dream where my mother was disapproving of my pitiful vegetable garden (during a time when I knew gardening was necessary for food, but I hated doing it), and it was her knowing my dislike and slacking, and of frowning at my lackluster efforts that kept pushing me to better tend the garden, or at least pretend like I was. It was a dream that unsettled me much like I imagine yours did, and gives us valuable insight into the nature of motherly disapproval as a driving/motivating factor--sometimes it's necessary and sometimes it's downright off-putting, heh. In a mostly cheeky sense (sorry that this is all I can offer you on this), we can hope you grow and learn from your dream so that next time you don't use a similar cleaner on the supposed-to-be-shiny surface. :) What I *do* know is our efforts are (should be) always ongoing as our experience/perspectives grow (and so our mind will always be processing this type of thing).

Hello Lyn you have given me thanks for my effort, but further 'you stayd on the plain' (i'am just looking four a semilar, just expression of a proverb, that 'feels somehow like flying under the radar in inglish), was that un purpose? But anyway, I wonder if you realy have understood me, and I think that is a pity.
