another short but puzzling dream and the station of infinity

this dream begins in a department store, with me frantically searching from one floor to another, finally settling on the bookstore . i was all eager with anticipation with learning what i was seeking to learn. then as i turned the pages of the book i had bought, i realized this book contained valuable knowledge but not what i had come hoping to learn. nonetheless as i turned the pages i became absorbed in what i was reading , then glanced out of the window of the train i was on. looking at the snow fall . then i saw the train pull into the station. the conductor said "we will be back in 2 hours to pick you up" i looked at the station. despite its run down, rather dilapidated appearance it was an interesting place. there were several people in the station. i will describe the ones that made the most impression on me. i saw a woman in white satin dress with a green leaf pattern. there was an elderly lady. of her, more anon. the one which stood out the most was a man in a derby hat ,with a pencil thin brown mustache and wearing a light brown vest, with a gold pocket chain watch, that he kept glancing at from time to time. soon i struck up a conversation. it was an extremely interesting conversation. about time, space gravity and matter and anti-matter. soon i noticed a concession stand and feeling rather dry, went over and ordered what i thought would hit the spot- hot fudge sundae. when he heard that the vendor laughed uproariously, as though that were the funniest thing he had ever had heard. i was surprised. i repeated the request. his answer: why would you want a sundae when you could have a Saturday. i was amazed. would this his idea of a joke? was he perhaps a bit touched in the head? i decided on a mineral water, which he gave to me but refused payment. i told the man in the derby hat about it, and he nodded without comment. now as the conversation progressed i happened to glance in the direction of the elderly lady who was wearing a hanfu robe - that is, a robe worn at the court of imperial China- with a green and gold pattern, culminating at the top with a representation of 2 dragons,1 green,1 gold the man the derby hat told me MIDH: she was grandmother to an emperor and played a key role in shaping his policy.{suddenly glaces at his watch} it is time for my train to arrive and yours too. do you know where you are? ME: yes, i am in the station waiting to board my train MIDH: do you know which station? ME: no MIDH: you have reached the station of infinity. from it you can access a hundred thousand yesterdays a hundred thousand todays and a hundred thousand tomorrows ME: will you answer one question? MIDH:yes? ME: could you give me a name for her? MIDH: she was the Empress Dowager: [here the noise of the 2 trains pulling in to the station at once drowned out all conversation] i waved . he waved back. then i headed for my train, and woke up, and that is another enigmatic dream i had . if anyone can interpret it your opinion will be welcomed

The floors could symbolise the unconscious, where you decide to seek the knowledge as in the bookstore. The train could symbolise many things, your life journey as you reflect out of the window, the journey that offers us to interconnect and form a spiritual symbolism of union, it can also represent being in control and new opportunities that will present themselves. You felt a restriction to the time table, which reminds us to take time for ourselves to self reflect, and nurture ourselves.

It can also symbolise your power and control in your life, maybe you are you going with the flow now, facing any obstacles you may face, or what life throws at you. Everyone seems to be heading somewhere, the train leads us to our destiny and life’s purpose, getting of the train can symbolise a need to reflect, What are you missing? What is it that you need out of life? What are your morals and values? These are questions we ask ourselves to interrogate our values and beliefs.

Maybe your about to embark on a new journey, so take this time to reflect. You took on board the train departing in 2 hours, you don’t want to miss out on the opportunity, where will it lead? The fact that the train was run down, are you attending to your health and needs? 2 hours, 2 dragons, 2 trains? The 2 was very significant, 2+2=4 multiply it by 2 = 8 the number of infinite possibilities, you chose the sweetness, here the man may have been giving you a clue, maybe he was drawing your attention to the other versions of the self, I got this from the other man’s reply - you have reached the station of infinity. from it you can access a hundred thousand yesterdays a hundred thousand todays and a hundred thousand tomorrows, it seemed to resonate with me, but that’s based on my own personal belief with characters in dreams being other versions of the self teaching us, and showing us what we need to see, in order to progress spiritually and physically, so maybe you are all of them, we can think of them a past lives.

You can rest assure, you don’t have to do anything, just be and enjoy the sweet things in life, stay true to yourself, and know you are being guided to your destination.

The Empress major arcana is about connecting to your feminine energy, the Mother Earth archetype, she urges you to venture out into nature to ground your energy and be in flow with the earth. Her dragons symbolise both the feminine and masculine energies, the telluric currents as above so below, the green representing earth and the gold representing the solar, manifesting within us. When you are in tune with the energy of The Empress, you will naturally take on her mothering nature. She can also symbolise a rebirth, or new beginning with the sense of being reborn, this could be significant for your spiritual development, letting go of what no longer aligns with your being.

this is a fascinating analysis. the floors could indeed symbolize levels of the subconscious and the train would symbolize my relentless never ending journey in search of truth and satori(i use the zen word because it seems what fits the most) incidentally it was not the train but the station which had the run down appearance, but which i knew for an interesting place anyway. the reply of the vendor was indeed a lesson, as other dream interpreter pointed out he was showing me to choose instead of sweet indulgence, health and strength. now the empress was something else again. i thought of her as embodying dignity and authority. wise authority. and the wisdom of age. but your analysis is essentially a right one. now the lesson from the man in the derby hat. about the fluid nature of time instead of time being linear as it is generally perceived to be.

Time cannot exist without space for it to exist. I went through a similar experience, where I just stopped, time didn’t seem to matter anymore in this silence, in fact months went by so very quickly, which turned in a year. I disconnected myself from these restrictions, not watching tv, or engaging in social norms etc, I came to only act on what the universe was showing me, if it became dark I knew I should sleep, I went about my day interacting with nature and the elements, while also self reflecting and analysing myself. I recall a moment where i went outside, and everything was moving past me at such speed, yet i was present at that very moment witnessing this, it was quite extraordinary, like something you see in a movie.

I realised I existed here because my consciousness was immortal, and not conditioned by time, that’s how i understood it anyway, we can act as our own guardian angel by meditating over our past and future selves, where older versions of ourself can be watching over our current self right now, and interacting with us through dreams/visions, this is where we unconsciously experience space without time, and why through meditation we can access this space.

It was in this space I was able to reflect away from the noise of life, in order to refocus on what matters most. I was able to see differen perspectives, while going through these shifts. I was then able to move forward with a clear and healthy intention which restored a deep connection within me and the universe.

I think this maybe the message about yesterday, today and tomorrow, he may have been telling you that in this space, you are not conditioned by time, what do you think would have happened if you didn’t board the train? The train led you to waking up from your dream! Being your vessel but who is driving it?

an excellent point, AL1ce, i believe you have hit the bullseye. of course, i would have gotten back on the train because my purpose on this plane of reality is not yet ended, but as far as time insight is concerned the lessons about stepping out of time, and forward and backward in time are well taken. that is the message ,that time is not a straight line but a revolving wheel which can spin clockwise , counterclockwise, upward, downward or all of them at once. as for the empress i will study her in greater depth. there is some importance to the fact that both trains cut off all communication.

Yes indeed, our ancestors were also showing us this through the means of the tripple spirals carved in rock, some clockwise while others anticlockwise, the spinning of cycles of time, evolution and de-evolution, orbiting planet cycles etc. The labyrinth is another interesting discovery in ancient stone, with the flower of life in its centre, and the seven intersections we can relate to many things, realms, planes, chakras, 7 rays etc, it explains how time and space is perceived, how we walk through life to the centre of our being, some may become lost while others find their way to the divine source within, it is a simple depiction telling us that we shouldn’t look outside of ourselves, everything is within us.

i have heard it explained this way:the divine within perceives the divine without. and that being true they may also interact . failure to realize this has been the cause of much misconception , and incomplete knowledge and by extension much pain and suffering much of it unintentional,it is true but nonetheless real for that.

This is valuable insight, and arguably the type of things dreams can help us understand-feel better than anything we can substitute for in our waking life (can't make a movie of it to have anywhere near the same enlightenment value, heh, no matter how skilled the cast and crew)! Cheers to the transformative power of perspective-enriching dreams!

Well, that's just the coolest dream ever. I have dream envy. At the end of the dream, when the MIDH explains where you are...well, that is dreamscape. You can go and be anywhere and anyone!
There is a powerful Mother figure in this dream. She is royal. You could do active imagination and converse with her.

Heh, don't have dream envy rather than motivation! Get your mind in order and open and then *yearn* for any meeting, and accept anything you get. If you want to see actual (meager) descriptions of this being done, check out my novel, Dream Knights. The reality-super-charging that can happen with such a meeting is described as best as I can manage in a fictionalized setting, but they actually *happened* to me, and it was glorious! (And I wish for it to happen to all dreamers who prepare for it and desire it, that intimate brush with the cosmic-mysterious-supernatural!) Actually, I'll post the novel excerpt in a new thread without all the surrounding context, just as it was recorded when I first awoke from the too-short meeting.

the Empress has been seen in a friends dream and this is proof that this is more than just a dream of 1 person. as you say there is much more to time than is generally believed . the knowledge given to me by MIDH came as a surprise to me too.
