Dark Presence

These are numerous recurring nightmares that take place in my child hood home, specifically my room. At least a dozen over an eight year span.

In the dream I feel alone, nobody in the house but myself in my room. I try to keep myself busy so I don't focus on this rising feel of uneasiness.

The unease quickly turns into desperation and fear as the light in the room slowly begins fade to a dim eerie glow. I try to turn on more lights, but something is absorbing all the light. I begin to panic as I feel a presence down the hallway. It feels dark, very dark and the air is thick and oppressive. I feel it, it wants me, it's seeking me. I think it's feeding on me. The more fearful I become the more powerful it becomes until I am completely overwhelmed by it's presence that I begin to scream. Then it's over.

Horrible nightmares, the hopelessness and fear I feel is so strong and I feel so weak and exposed against something so powerful and otherworldly.

Oh, and these nightmares of our old house didn't start happening till we moved into a new house

Nightmares are tricky,
What people feel in them is more intense, then in most normal dreams, I relate this feeling to a sense of needing to focus on the subject its asking you to review.

Your room in your house, is normally a symbol for you base nature or self. The more vunerable parts of your nature.

The feeling like your losing access to that part of you as darkness decends
The feeling of the entity using your fear to feed, is perhaps a statement of sorrow or depression using your own intense shame/sorrow/fear/negativity in general to force you into a state that isn't your base nature.

Which is the neutral orginal state of the child in the room, it's normally safe space, but it seems like somewhere somehow your safe spaces turned into things you feared.
Like you were trained to fear them.
It was subconsciously done

Yea these dreams happened between ages 16 -23. The last night mare I had was different. In this one it happened in the living where I challenged it and it bellowed in rage and was gone. That was it
