Every night I dream about trains and train stations. Do trains symbolize anything in particular?

Let me add something to the good replies here...train symbolism points also to the way we travel..a train needs all the equipment to roll, whereas a car is more autonomous...independend..but a train can cover long distances even through deserts..harder for car...

Execatly: train and buses represent public, a sect, a cult ..., non private and the car auto(mobile), the mobile house represent private, indvidual atmosphere. Moreover the train represent a/the dark tunnel state that we are in!
