Speaking in dreams

I noticed recently that i almost never talk in the dreams i have

It's less like i physically can't, like i've seen others discuss, but more as if i could and choose not to. Others will speak to me out loud, but i'll communicate mostly through hand gestures and other body language

I do talk in some of them, but this tends to be limited to:
  • nightmares
  • dreams where i'm someone else
I'm not a particularly quiet person in waking life, so i wonder what the reason for this difference might be. Anyone have any ideas?

That seems so fascinating and I've never tought about that on myself, on others yes, on me? Never.

I think that the reasons for being silent in dreams can vary.

One possibility is that your dream self might be expressing subconscious feelings of reticence or introspection, even if you're typically vocal in waking life.
Alternatively, it could be a reflection of how you process information or emotions during sleep, with non-verbal cues taking precedence.

I like these interpretations. both of them seem reasonable enough, so it's probably safe to assume it's one of the two or something similar

Sorry for getting back to you so late, and thanks for the reply!
